Disclaimer: This is obviously not an official Cal/OSHA publication, but it is a reasonable summation I have compiled over the years of some of Cal/OSHA's training requirements. I must also add that there are many other Cal/OSHA regulations requiring training, such as most of the regulations specific to regulated carcinogens (of which I’ve only listed some).
If you are searching for Cal/OSHA’s
training requirements at http://www.dir.ca.gov/Samples/search/query.htm,
remember to look for not just for “training,” but also for “trained,” “inform,”
“instructed,” “informed,” “instruction,” "instruct,” “education,” “train,”
“communicate,” “apprise” and even other terms.
This isn’t as easy as it should be – that’s why I came up with this
list.
FINALLY! Cal/OSHA has decided to provide us with a “Comprehensive list of safety and health training and instruction requirements” (at
http://www.dir.ca.gov/dosh/dosh_publications/TrainingReq.htm), which looks astonishingly similar to this list. Like most of the other organizations that have pirated it, they somehow didn’t bother to give me any credit. Dated August 2005 (and updated August 2006), it’s the second item on the Cal/OSHA Publications website (http://www.dir.ca.gov/DOSH/puborder.asp).
