Environmental Health & Safety Specialist

Siemens Healthineers has an immediate opening for an Environmental Health & Safety Specialist at its Issaquah, WA research and development facility. 


This is a role well suited to an ambitious professional, looking for the next step in their career. As an Environmental Health & Safety Specialist, you will be responsible for:
  • You will implement, manage, and administer an environmental health and safety management system (EHSMS) and associated programs that align with Siemens Healthineers requirements, international standards, good work practices, laws and regulations.
  • You will assess EHS risks associated with existing and new processes, substances, equipment and facilities
  • You will identify and mitigate hazards and environmental aspects and impacts
  • You will perform regulatory compliance activities, including preparing and submitting reports and interfacing with regulatory agency personnel. Manage regulatory audits for sites within responsibility

Required skills to have for the success of this role:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in industrial hygiene, occupational safety, environmental science, or a related discipline
  • Six or more years’ experience in EHS
  • Knowledge of EHS management principles, regulations, and standards

Safety/Risk Officer

The Position…

​The Safety/Risk Officer performs a variety of professional level duties involving the development, organization, implementation, and coordination of a variety of safety and risk management programs including workers’ compensation, training, safety, and emergency management programs. Duties include:
  • Developing and enforcing safety policies and procedures in compliance with State and Federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) laws and regulations.
  • Overseeing and participating in the day-to-day operations of programs designed to reduce and manage risk and ensure work place safety and facility security.
  • Administering implementation and oversight of SSWD’s Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP); reviewing, developing, and updating safety related policies and procedures; developing and providing training of various safety topics to employees; and inspecting SSWD facilities, equipment, and records for compliance with OSHA standards.
  • Responding to the scene of accidents/injuries; conducting thorough investigations and analysis of conditions and circumstances related to the accident/injury; and preparing reports with findings and recommendations.

ABM is seeking a Sr. Manager, Environmental Health and Safety for our West Region, supporting operations in 13 western states.

The position leads a team of 9 EHS professionals (5 direct reports + 4 Portfolio EHS professionals).

The ideal candidate will have 7-10 years of progressive responsibility in the following primary Focus Areas:
  • Implement and evaluate safety efforts that effectively communicate and support company policies in a consistent manner with a key focus on incident prevention and loss abatement.
  • Communicate with Operations leaders regarding safety activities and initiatives, employee training, program and regulatory compliance requirements and support as needed.
  • Use data system to collect and report compliance status to management.
  • Maintain knowledge of safety, health, and environmental regulations at all levels of government, including federal, state and local and possess the ability to evaluate, document, and report on compliance with policies, procedures, rules, and regulations to ensure operational compliance.
Professional certification, such as CSP or similar, is preferred.
